These startling pictures of a spider eating a bird were taken by an resident in Atherton, located in Far North Queensland. The images show a Golden Orb Weaver spider snaring a native finch called the Chestnut-breasted Mannikin in it’s web.
Greg Czechura from Queensland Museum said cases of the Golden Orb Weaver eating small birds were “well known but rare”. More at telegraph.co.uk
