Defend Kensington Rally

June 20th, 2008 | Category: Kensington

I just got this comment, so I thought I would repost it. This is an important issue facing Kensington at the moment. Check it out…

What you doing Saturday?

Defend Kensington Rally
2 pm Saturday 21 June at the Community Recreation Centre, followed by an outrageous stunt

The stunt will be organized pandemonium! You and your kids will love it.
Your kids will get to what they want to do - run around and make a huge noise! You’ll join them and have fun. (Each adult and child will need a picnic plate with a bog black cross marked on it in texta or tape. Why? That will be your ’steering wheel” for the stunt!

So do not miss this Rally! You will kick yourself if you do.

What about the East-West Road Tunnel itself? We are skeptical. It seems so 20th century! We think that the road tunnel should only proceed in the context of a compelling social, financial and environmental case and must be underpinned by a unified Melbourne Transport Plan. That would establish whether this expensive initiative was really needed. However, for the time being -

what we say for sure is “Hands off JJ Holland Park and the wetlands!”
