Tweetl - A custom made Twitter URL shortening. Check it out.
Tweetl. I’m pretty sure I remember running across this on Reddit earlier today and upon further inspection, I reckon it is pretty cool. This custom made Twitter URL shortening service is well worth a look. Tweetl offers you a URL shorter than what Tinyurl delivers with the added bonus of checking out other people’s random Tweetls and gathering statistics on the links you post with Tweetl URLs.
For example, if I use http://tweetl.com/2wg to point to this blog, I can then go to go to http://stats.tweetl.com/2wg and check out the stats from that link posted - either on Twitter or in a blog. Very, very handy in my books.
I recommend trolling through the site and checking out Tweetl’s Fun Page.
Upon further investigation I’m going to start using this service and work out a routine for pasting the links into my tweets - in fact, I’ve already added it to my Google Toolbar. How about you? Had a look at it? What are your thoughts? Are you going to use it?

You can actually use http://t-l.cc/ instead of http://tweetl.com/ if you really need to make it shorter still…
I can’t get the API or the bookmarklet to work properly…
Maybe it’s a Mac thing.
Hey! thanks for the kind words!
We actually used to have a Twitter client on the site. So you’d make you link, then be able to type your username and password and tweet in, and we’d post it for you. It was rarely used, so we scrapped it. We’re looking at some new options to make pasting the links into Twitter easier. Watch the site in the first bit of 2008 to see what we come up with.
Griif: The API will be up by the end of 2007, and the bookmarklet should work now. We just re-built it from the ground up. Let me know if you still have issues.
