How not to get shafted on ebay. Double check the specs.
I came across this Australian site just before Christmas and I’ve been meaning to post about it for a while. Early last year I bought some stuff off ebay and, well, due to my own lack of research (and some would even say downright stupidity), upon delivery I found out that it wasn’t the exact item I wanted. I went back and checked the ebay seller’s product review page and sure, it was from the same manufacturer and all that, but it was a slightly different model which threw a spanner in the works. And sent $70 down the gurgler. Since then, I’ve been double checking specs and user’s reviews on ProductReview.com.au which saves me a heap of time and messing around. Seriously.
Instead of standing around in the store and listening to the salesperson babble about how good the product is (which they obviously want me to buy) and all the super-duper features (strange, they never mention the downside), simply by checking productreview.com.au I read user submitted comments about how good (or how incredibly shit) a gadget is. There is actually a whole heap of different items on there such as cars, bikes, electronics, gardening supplies, services, etc etc. I ended up reading this review, and based on feedback from friends and the site, I ended up buying it on ebay.
Anyway, it helps dumbass consumers like me. Hey, I’m just saying…
